Michael Poor is a global economic development professional with 15+ years of experience delivering digital technology projects and advancing international policy and thought leadership in the digital economy. He brings deep expertise in digital finance, trade, and emerging technologies, and has held senior management roles across the risk, finance, and international development sectors.
As Senior Manager and Partnerships Lead at Nextrade Group, Michael led a global portfolio of digital transformation and trade programs, forging partnerships with leading multinational tech firms and securing investment to scale impact. Prior to that, he managed finance and tech strategy projects at RGP, and he advised Fortune 500 clients on cybersecurity and enterprise risk during his tenure at AIG.
Michael has worked closely with foreign governments, multilateral organizations, and industry leaders to support digital policy agendas, and is an active contributor to international thought leadership through speaking engagements, research publications, and a podcast series on trade and technology.
He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from UC San Diego and a bachelor’s in political science and economics from the University of Colorado Boulder.
